Aspirations Care provides supported living services to a growing but underserved client base of adults with learning difficulties and complex needs.
Based in Gloucester, it has more than 950 staff supporting 650 people across England.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Elysian in the next stage of Aspiration’s Care journey. During the process, they demonstrated that they share our mission of wanting to create the type of service that we would all want for ourselves, our families and our friends. Their investment will allow us to provide that to more people including in new geographical areas.”
Christine Cameron
Chief executive, Aspirations Care
Investment rationale
Aspirations Care tailors its services to each individual, promoting their wellbeing and enabling them to maintain and develop their independence. These are provided in the client’s own home, often sourced through registered housing providers with the assistance of the company.
The company had demonstrated strong care credentials, giving it a platform to organically develop in the growing supported living market.
Population growth, longer life expectancies and a trend of moving people from residential care to supported living for better outcomes are fundamental drivers of the increased need for such services.
Aspirations had identified an undersupply of support at the mid to high acuity end within multiple local authorities. The company delivered the first of these services in Birmingham, providing a strong reference point to offer similar services elsewhere.
The management team had demonstrated the experience and depth to grow the business and support more people across the full range of services.
